I think it's been like a YEAR since I submitted anything to I heart Faces, but there are exciting new changes happening with IHF so I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon again! This week's theme is "beautiful black and white," and although the majority of my work is in color, every once in a while I look at an image and know it belongs in black and white, like this one.

and just in case all you thought I did was newborns....
Baptism at age eight in the LDS (Mormon) religion is one of the most important moments in a person's life. What better way to document it than with a photo shoot in her beautiful dress!

neglect
Poor little blog... It has been so neglected. (let's not even talk about my family blog!) I've been pretty bad about blogging, but I have been doing a pretty good job of posting a pic of every session on my Facebook Page. If you haven't liked my business page yet, click here to receive more frequent updates.
Meanwhile, check out sweet Tabitha.

heads
Although I like to call myself a newborn/children/family photographer, I still LOVE doing professional headshots! I've taken them for models, authors, business professionals, realtors, but my favorite people to shoot are actors. I was a big-time theatre girl in high school and part of college, so it's nice to relive those memories. If you know anyone that needs headshots, send them my way!

i have you
For a long time I've debated whether to put music on my photography website. So I decided that if I ever found the perfect song, then I would make it a part of my site. About a year ago I discovered a folk singer named Connie Kaldor that wrote a beautiful song called "I Have You." Then after much searching, I recently found another arrangement of the song by another Canadian folk singer named Rylene Rankin and knew I had found the perfect song.
Her voice is bright, simple and sweet; things that I think describe my photography style. The words perfectly describe my feelings about my own children, and the real essence of why I chose family and children's photography, documenting the one thing in life that really, truly matters; our families.
I hope you will go visit my website again and take a listen.

little home project
I first saw this idea on the movie Chaos Theory (anyone see it? no? well anyway) so I decided to do the same idea in our playroom. After two sets of frames (the first were awful) and about five different Walmarts trying to find enough new frames, I finally got it up. Sadly, I first took these pics in October, so it won't be long before Andrew doesn't look like Andrew anymore and I'll have to re-take them.

britiny and chase
This cute couple decided to do everything out of order. First, bride and groom pictures, the reception a few days later, and the wedding last. I thought it was a fabulous idea, and I think people ought to do it that way more often! Maybe then I would become a wedding photographer!

adelynne | allen tx newborn photographer
We only had an hour to shoot, and ms. Adelynne was one month old, but with some awesome preparation from mom, a very cooperative baby, and super teamwork during the shoot, I think we were able to get some great pictures!
Isn't she a doll?

strong | Waxahachie family photographer
I've decided that there's no way I'm going to blog all of the sessions from this fall, but I'll at least try...
I love the Strong family. They were one of my first clients, and I'm glad they've stuck with me. :) I love being able to see Blake grow up, and I love the sweet relationship these guys have with each other.
